VYN have re-designed and re-engineered the most vulnerable parts of sneakers in a new way so that the wearer can self- repair and personalise the product multiple times.
Through this circular philosophy and support system of WEAR – CARE – RENEW, the sneaker's lifetime is extended.
VYN has redesigned the heel and the heel counter to be self-repaired with just a few moves. An easy click mechanism in the outsole allows the owner to replace the heel piece once it is worn down, selecting different colours to customise the sneakers.
Selecting premium leather for durability; Hoffmann is a German tannery that stands for excellence in leather for 120 years. They can trace the hides back to the farm where the calf was reared. Working with regenerative farmers the tannery has full insight, providing 100% control over the raw material selection in the supply chain. In terms of water treatment Hoffmann implemented their own treatment facilities in the factory 40 years ago. The leathers that are produced are carbon neutral and ECO₂L certified.
Insoles are made from premium Portuguese cork, a 100% natural and recyclable material with great elasticity which creates a personalised foot bed over time. The temperature-regulating properties of the material and its antibacterial effect ensure a perfect foot climate all year round. These can also be replaced.
All materials and components come from European certified partners. VYN sneakers are hand-crafted by Italian artisans to guarantee the highest quality, fair labour practices and to keep the CO2 footprint low.
