THE 1% PLASTIC SNEAKER by Baabuk

The 1% Plastic Sneaker represents a groundbreaking collaboration prioritising the creation of sustainable footwear. This project embodies the goal of minimal environmental impact by utilising materials and practices that benefit both people and planet.
Ethically sourced wool is in the DNA of BAABUK’s shoes, and as a sustainable material by default, it was important to build the shoe with other materials as natural and multi- functional as this protein fibre.

THE 1% PLASTIC SNEAKER is crafted with 99% natural materials, is entirely leather free, and reduces microplastics to the minimum to create a product that can return safely to the soil.

With this project, BAABUK also prioritises transparency, openly acknowledging the ongoing journey toward sustainability rather than claiming to have achieved perfection. This honesty underscores the brand’s belief that sustainability is a continuous path, not a final destination.
