BATTLESTEP BIO GRIP by SIMPLIFYBER

Simplifyber has created a novel manufacturing process that uses natural fibres to create 3D-shaped soft goods directly, in a single step. By pouring a liquid slurry of cellulose fibres into shaped moulds, Simplifyber is able to create fully circular products unlike anything currently on the market. This process eliminates 60% of the intermediate steps involved in making soft goods and will transform fashion’s supply chain into plant-based, low-impact 3D manufacturing, at a cost competitive with polyester.

Simplifyber is different
Most textiles are first made as fibre, then spun into yarn, then woven or knitted into fabric, which is then cut and sewn into 3D shapes. At Simplifyber, the process starts with natural fibres, and those fibres are moulded directly into 3D shapes, like shoe uppers—all without the need for yarn, fabric, cutting and sewing.

Simplifyber products can be used for a variety of purposes, ranging from shoes, accessories, to clothing, car interiors, furniture, consumer electronics and medical applications, to name a few.

Raw materials can include wood, recycled clothing, recycled paper, wool, mixed recycled fibres, hemp, cotton and other bio-based fibres.

Currently, Simplifyber is at pilot scale, with a project lead time of 3 months (or 10 weeks after finalized design). Format size: up to 90cm x 90cm. Custom colours and finishes available.
